To me it was always important to care about environment. Sometimes maybe more than others. There are people who think I´m eccentric but I don´t see me that way.

Activities I do, to live and be more sustainable:

  1. I have my own collection of reusable bags

I often get them as presents from companies or friends, who know I´m not using plastic bags. I always have them in my handbag.

  1. I use washable handkerchiefs

Grandma style, and I´m not kidding, they are from my grandma and I love them, it´s like keeping up a legacy.

  1. I grow my own food

Please be escorted to my garden section =).

  1. Glass and paper package

The stuff I buy in grocery stores I always look for juice in glass bottles, vegetables without package, flower, rice and noodles in paper package. In the beginning I thought, “woohhh, I´m not finding anything without package and all that stuff you can buy, wtf!” Now I have my brands and know where to go.

The best thing for me, I can reuse the glasses and bottles for all the food preparation from my garden. Nothings goes to waste.

  1. Cloth and Co

I don´t use kitchen creep or anything else you just throw away. Cloth can be thrown in the washing machine and I can reuse them all the time.

  1. Cleaning with soda and vinegar

Again grandma style =). I don´t own chemical cleaners and I´m happy with it.

  1. Use the “trash” of other people

People tend to throw away everything. My friends know, before they will throw something away that can actually still be used, they ask me if I need it.

  1. Less shopping

Not only clothes and stuff, also groceries. I always pass a shop when driving home, so I get out on a regular basis whenever I need something. I never buy stuff that I think I might need or eat soon. I know, I will not. That I learned from experience.

So with this attitude you not only buy fresher, you also buy less and throw away less too. Which again brings you to the point that you safe money (more money for traveling and my garden, to invest).

  1. Plant trees while searching the internet

Go to setting in your browser and change your search tool from what so ever to https://www.ecosia.org

They find as many stuff as all the others and meanwhile you can see on the right side, who many trees you helped to plant!

  1. Saving energy on a daily basis

There is a lot of potential in your flat to reduce your electricity bill.

Every one of us is a creature of habit! Start with one step at the time, you will see, you gone change your attitude and soon the next step comes up.

For me the next steps are changing my bank account to an ethical bank, buying make up that´s vegan, driving less with my car, inspire more people to live sustainable.

How about you? How do you live a more sustainable life? Please let me know below.
