Today I introduce you to my special diet that makes you fitter, better looking, bringing out your personality and let you enjoy life more.
I started it in 2013 and up till now I don´t regret it. I can just see positive effects on my life and hope you may join me in a few points.
- I quit my alarm clock
Getting to know my body’s needs and getting up when my body fills like it is awesome. That doesn´t mean I sleep in all the time. My body needs around 6 hours of sleep and then gets up again. How about yours?
Another thing, if you need to have an alarm clock to get up. Our brain works or better sleeps in cycles. One full cycle is around 1 ½ h. That means with 6 hours of sleep I have a need for 4 full cycles. If you need more try to set the alarm clock after a full cycle to not interrupt a REM sleep phase, that´s when you get up crashed and annoyed.
- I detox people who are negative
A friend of mine calls them energy vampires. It´s mean, but he is right. Some people are just not meant for each other. I trust my guts on that, so whenever I feel uncomfortable with people a view times in a crow, I know I don´t want to spent time with them anymore.
Friendships change, I change and that is good.
- I stopped stressing myself for breakfast
You know all the people and even doctors who tell you “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” I wonder, who started that rumor?
I mostly don´t eat during the morning, my first meal is around 1 pm and you know what, I feel good about it.
- I reduced my level of work
I love to start new projects and do different things all the time. The thing is I kind of rotate all the time, not calming down and resting. Since I have my garden I changed that a lot, I just rest watching my pond or the birds and it grounds me. I never had something more relaxing in my life that my garden. I can forget about everything when I walk into my garden.
The more stressed and carried away by work I feel, the faster I get on my bike and cycle to my garden, after 1 hour everything looks different and I feel like I have a new perspective and new solutions.
- I stopped wearing a watch during my leisure time
If I´m on my job and need to track time, it´s fine and also very important for me to wear a watch, but every other time, it just stresses me out.
I even got rid of the watches in my home. The only working watch I own there is in the bathroom. In my office I have an old watch of my mom, it´s not working anymore, or at least 2 times a day =). For me it´s the reminder not to think frequently about time. Better live your life! Try as often as possible to be in a state of flow.
- I quit worrying
I used to worry a lot about nearly everything: money, studies, what to do if I´m not getting a job, how will I support myself if my self-employment will fail and much more. Throughout my past 5 years of just living my life, everything happened exactly when it was supposed to happen.
See every opportunity there is for you, use it and all will work out fine.
- I refuse to watch TV or news
As all you see there is negative and somehow seems to be one-sided in the way things get presented to me, I most of the time get really mean and annoyed by watching TV. That´s way I never bought myself one as I left home to start studying. I never regraded that decision.
Often news show you how scary and dangerous the world is but in reality it´s beautiful, people are friendly, loving and caring. Travel as much as you can and get to know your version of the world. A version that maybe doesn´t sell as well as common new, but that will enrich you in unmeasurable ways throughout your life.
- I stopped eating animal products
I don´t call myself a vegan, I just don´t buy animal products anymore to cook my meals. My garden produces plenty of stuff to eat that there is no need for me to supplement myself with extra animal products.
You can have ethical reasons, believe systems or whatever. I grow up on a farm and got to know the taste of meat of well cared about animals. It´s not to compare with the crap you can buy in a supermarket. I tasted that animals haven´t been mucked out properly other people don´t taste that.
Now all my food that I cook is vegan, all my clients get vegan food in my seminars and thy love it. I never tell them in advance, I let them taste first and when they are finished and happy I just slip the news and I´m always glad to hand out recipes!
If I visit other friend I don´t expect them to cook vegan for me. I just eat vegetarian than. As vegan as possible is good, we don´t need to radical about that! You never changed anything in our world by been radical. Give people a taste of the good life instead.
By the way, eating vegan is not more expansive as eating meat. That excuse just applies when you buy crappy meat.
- I reduced the amount of stuff to buy
I love handicraft and whenever I got a new idea, I get myself the material to start it. I have kind of a great timing and also my friends know that I have a use for everything. So I always ask around if someone wants to get rid of something and if I can have it. My friends often don´t throw out things before calling my and asking if I want to use it for the garden.
I can gift them some cans of mine and get something new for my garden. It saves me a lot of money and the world plenty of trash.
Our society has an idea of looking at things and I most of the time have another point of view. I feel comfortable with it, as I believe the only person I need to compare myself with is me one week ago.
I continue to enlarge my diet as it makes me feel lighter, happier and also a lot more flexible.
